Camael.

Camael is the intelligence associated with Geburah and the sphere of Mars in Agrippa’s Three Books of Occult Philosophy. The passage places him within a larger scheme of divine names, angelic orders and celestial correspondences.

Camael in Book III, chapter 10

Agrippa III.10, in the English translation published in 1651, discusses the fifth divine name, Elohim Gibor. Its associated numeration is Geburah, described through strength, judgment and war. The influence proceeds through the order of Powers, which the passage also calls Seraphim, and the sphere of Mars.

Within that arrangement, Camael is named as the particular intelligence and as the ruler of Samson. This is Agrippa’s correspondence scheme. It should not be read as a claim that the biblical Samson narrative itself names Camael.

Why the textual setting matters

The chapter makes neighboring assignments to other named intelligences, including Zadkiell and Raphael. Camael’s office gains its meaning from that network of correspondences. Reducing the entry to an isolated list of personal powers loses the structure of the source.

The spelling also invites comparison with Kemuel in the Moses legends and Chamuel in modern Ascended Master teachings. Those articles examine different accounts. The checked Agrippa passage does not prove that every use of these names describes one identical figure, nor does it explain the historical development of Chamuel’s pink-ray portrayal.
