Glasyalabolas.

In early modern demonological catalogues, Glasyalabolas (printed as Glasya Labolas, with Johann Weyer recording the alternative names Caacrinolaas and Caassimolar) is classified as a great president commanding thirty-six legions of spirits. In entry 18 of Weyer’s 1577 Pseudomonarchia Daemonum, presented alongside the English version printed in Scot’s Discoverie of Witchcraft, the spirit is described as appearing in the likeness of a dog equipped with griffin wings.

The catalogue attributes several distinct functions to Glasyalabolas, portraying him as a leader of bloodshed and manslaughter who confers knowledge of arts, makes a person invisible, and wins the favor of both friends and enemies. In the seventeenth-century Goetia (spirit 25), the text specifies that he teaches all arts in an instant and reveals things past and to come, whereas Weyer’s Latin text notes understanding of things present and future. Both entries inspected here give the rank of president.
