Bazazath is a spelling recorded in Gustav Davidson’s later angel dictionary. A closely related form, Bazazeth, appears in F. C. Conybeare’s translation of the Testament of Solomon.
Bazazeth in the Testament of Solomon
In sections 60–63, Solomon encounters a winged dragon-shaped demon. After the spirit burns wood collected for the Temple, Solomon asks which angel frustrates it. The answer names Bazazeth and places the angel’s seat in the second heaven. Solomon invokes the angel and assigns the demon to saw marble for the Temple.
Comparing the spellings
Davidson’s printed page 72 lists Bazazath, including the compound Raphael-Bazazath, and reports a second-heaven residence. The earlier passage’s wording identifies a seat in that heaven rather than rulership over the whole realm. The two sources should retain their own spellings and descriptions.
